Fedora Start Page Design

I've made a rough (but functional) port of start.fp.o here. It'd be great if the design team could work their magic to make the page more presentable.

Also, when this page is loaded from the fedoraproject.org domain (as opposed to the development site linked above), it will automatically import news items from the Announcements List on discussion.fp.o. (They don't show on the development site due to some complex "same origin" rules.) However, discourse.fp.o doesn't provide thumbnail images for the posts. So I've hard-coded news items from discourse.fp.o to use an image from the websites-3.0 assets library (currently fedora-discussion-plus-icon-472x200.png). Matthew has requested that a specially-crafted thumbnail be made for the announcements that will show on fp.o/start. The thumbnail should be 472x200 to be consistent with those fetched from Fedora Magazine. (The Fedora Magazine posts and the Fedora Announcements posts will be interleaved and ordered by date when displayed on fp.o/start.)
