DEI 🤝 Marketing — Building a strategy for a more diverse communication
I'm here as part of the marketing team to ask for advice and/or help brainstorming. As I've stated in our goals for 2024, I'd love to collaborate with the DEI team on more marketing campaigns to promote Fedora as a community and a safe space for people to join and to be able to better communicate with a more diverse audience.
I've talked before in the F39 Release Party about how our social media profiles currently have a really limited reach of 20-45 year old men and I'd love some ideas on where we could improve to change that, but, as a cishet male, I'm definitely not the right person to say what we need to do to reach a wider audience of women and specially not the right person to say what we need to do to reach more LGBTQ+ folks in general.
It would really irk me to do this half-heartedly in a "rainbow capitalism" way (the sort of only changing the profile pic to a rainbow version of the logo during pride month and changing it back after it's over, you know?), so I'd love some feedback and ideally some more social media post ideas and topics to add to our backlog.
