Summary: Tuner for Piano / Grand Piano - You need a tuning hammer, muting strip and this app.
Description:
Application for tuning Pianos and Grand Pianos. It uses the approach of minimizing Entropy. 3 Steps are needed to tune a piano. The user does not need to know music or notes as it is an engineering approach to piano tuning. The 3 steps are:
- Recording of all tones (one by one) and do FFT to check the plausibility (right key pressed)
- calculate the tuning curve using the entropy minimizing algorithm after all notes are recorded
- The user now plays every tone to be tuned and app shows the deviation and helps the user tuning up or down. Warning: The user needs to make sure to turn the screw of the note he plays otherwise he could ruin the piano and/or break strings. Tip: follow the string where the damper rises with the finger to the tuning screw. Double or triple strings need to be muted so only the string that is tuned with the tuning hammer is sounding. Then the double or triple strings are tuned to the same frequency as the first string tuned before (app or zero-beat).
