F-Droid Basic app install broken when privileged extension present

I observed this on CalyxOS. With their default pre-installed version of privileged extension.

What did you do? (clear steps if possible)

• installed official F-Droid Basic from f-droid.org repo. (With CalyxOS pre-installed F-Droid Client)
• opened F-Droid Basic and tried to install any app.

What did you expect to see?

Working app installs (supported privileged extension). It's an official build of F-Droid Basic by f-droid.org after all.

What did you see instead?
