Gradle 6.8.3 not working although supported in master

Apps which use Gradle 6.8.3 fail at the moment (example) although the hash was included into the master branch a week ago via !874 (merged).

I don't know what is required for the build process to use a version supporting Gradle 6.8.3 - does fdroidserver have to be released? Is there anything I can do to help?
