Can Git Touch be built from a fork?

The version of Git Touch included in F-Droid doesn't have a working build. The last APK included in F-Droid is missing a major authentication feature that basically renders the app kind of useless.

I see a few forks with updated Dart/Flutter, which (if I understand the build issue complaints) may solve the problem. I recognize that yanking a project from the ostensible maintainer is not ideal, but there haven't been any updates (for this or other things) in several years.
