Fedilab (fr.gouv.etalab.mastodon) and FreeTusky (com.thechiefmeat.freetusky) explicitly promote violence
Just as we have the 8chan shooter, Gab is guilty of the same kind of promotion of violence. And with the discussion around the 8chan issue in #1722 (closed), I figure I'd bring this to your attention as well.
Currently, two apps in the F-Droid repos are explicitly designed to circumvent blocks and allow access to Gab, similar to Librem's apps in #1734 (closed):
Fedilab's developer explicitly said that they blocked Gab and then removed it and ignored further replies on the matter, closing it while knowing full well what they're doing makes it easier for bigots to enact their bigotry on mobile devices. As such, their reasoning for removing the block doesn't matter, and by locking down the issue without addressing things, they explicitly chose to enable hatred and violence through their app and therefore is knowingly aiding in providing a platform to bigotry. They've also voiced support for violent, oppressive speech so long as it's made against a group and not individuals. This is explicit promotion of violence as a result.
FreeTusky, meanwhile, is a fork of Tusky explicitly made for Gab due to Gab being the only instance on Tusky's blocklist atm and FT's maintainer using that blocklist's removal as the primary feature and reason for the fork. This is visible in the app description itself in the link above and since no other changes are made, it serves no other purpose over Tusky other than to promote Gab's violence.
Thank you for your time, and thank you for pointing me in the right direction in the other thread.
Edit: Since people have continually refused to look up the social media stuff itself, I've added a link directly to their post where they point out that they don't regret blocking (and subsequently unblocking) Gab, but they will only speak out against individual-based harassment, which implies that Gab's harassment and violence that targets groups is okay by them.
