Impress remote 2.3 on fdroid does not work

On fdroid the latest version of the Libreoffice Impress remote is 2.3. On the play store it is 2.2.3.

Version 2.2.3 is old but works.

Fdroid version 2.3 does not work as it does not show miniatures of the slides on the mobile.
