make swap index generation get out of the way of the user

On slow devices, it can take quite some time to generate the swap index. The whole time, the dialog is shown. Touching anywhere on the screen cancels the dialog (but not the process, that still ticks along in the background).

It should have a cancel button, and this should actually cancel it, rather than just hiding the dialog.
