(Proper) support for AndroidTV [50€]
I am running an AndroidTV without Google account and I successfully sideloaded F-Droid and can install a bunch of useful applications, however the UX with the f-droid client is really poor, the main problem being that f-droid is not listed as a regular app (only runnable through third party app browsers).
IMHO the following three things would need to happen for f-droid to be fully usable:
-
appear in the TV's app list; AFAIK this only implies changing something in the description and adding an icon with specific dimensions. -
be usable without mouse/touch input / support remote control keyboards. Currently the client is not usable without mouse as some interface elements are not reachable (I have a mouse plugged it, but it's quite annoying). -
track for every app if it is "tv-compatible" and hide those apps that aren't by default.
The third point is probably the most work, but it is also the least important to me personally (after all, if I can easily install/remove apps I can just try out).
I would be willing to setup a 50€ bounty for just the first two tasks. Is that something you generally do / does money incentive increase the chance developers pick it up? Do you have a preferred platform for this? (Otherwise I can also do IBAN/paydirekt/paypal...)
I can test experimental APKs, but I currently don't have enough time to setup an android development environment and tinker with this myself.
