available updates notification interval vs automatic update interval

• Device OS and version: android 11
• Device model/manufacturer: samsung
• F-Droid version (in the About screen): 1.13.1
• F-Droid privileged extension version (if installed):

What did you do? (clear steps if possible)

• Settings:

  • Automatic update interval: set to weekly
  • Show available updates: yes

• Don't update all apps for which an update is available

What did you expect to see?

The notification about available updates (both new and old ones for apps that I haven't updated yet) should happen weekly

What did you see instead?

I get the notification daily (I guess this only happens because I have not updated all the apps)

Suggested fix: the notification interval should automatically follow the update interval, or the user should be able to set it (daily, weekly etc) with a similar slider. The presence of not-yet-updated apps shouldn't influence the notification interval.
