OS freeze when downloading

Device OS and version: OxygenOS 11
Device model/manufacturer: OnePlus
F-Droid version (in the About screen): V1.13
F-Droid privileged extension version (if installed): -

What did you do? (clear steps if possible)

Updated the repo and started downloading app updates

What did you expect to see?

When the screen would turn off it should continue downloading app updates without problems.

What did you see instead?

When the screen turned off, I tried to open F-Droid again and it made my OS freeze. I couldn't fix it until I restarted my phone. It did also reset the wallpaper to the preloaded one.

Please help because it's really annoying and it already happened to me for twice now
