Cancel button needs to be pressed multiple times before it the download actually stops

• Device OS and version: MIUI 9 (Android 7.0)
• Device model/manufacturer: Redmi Note 4
• F-Droid version (in the About screen): 1.0.2
• F-Droid privileged extension version (if installed):

What did you do? (clear steps if possible)

1. Click on any available app for download.
2. Click Install button and then quickly click the cross X button
3. The installation process should've stopped but it doesn't.
4. Use has to click the cross multiple times before it actually stops
5. After that, the Install button doesn't work again

What did you expect to see?

X (Cross) button should cancel the download at once and the install button should work after the installation is canceled

What did you see instead?

The behavior of the buttons is not as expected. It takes multiple clicks to stop the installation and the install button doesn't work after cancellation.
