Troubles towards making Repomaker easily installable
So I'm now working for quite some weeks in the spare time I can spend on making Repomaker easily installable. My goal is to let users install the software on their desktops with ease by either installing it from Flathub with flatpak or by installing it with a deb.
The first method, flatpak, is blocked for over a week now by this strange issue I've never faced before. I already tried to debug it several times, but did not find the reason for it. Repomaker is running fine beside that, it indexes all apps by remote repos, downloads the app icons, lets me add an app to my repo,... But as soon as it wants to "make the repo", i.e. sign the index, it fails with the error message provided in mentioned issue. So that's really a critial bug. Repomaker can't make repos with that.
Regarding the debs, I was able to build a deb for Debian, but F-Droid doesn't seem to have an official Debian repo, yet. Rather, it has a ppa on launchpad which serves debs for Ubuntu. I tried building the deb in a Ubuntu machine, but Ubuntu uses a modified build system of Debian and therefore it doesn't work out of the box.
Being busy with other stuff, I fear I'll not be able to finish even one method in order to present it in the c't article as (one of) the official one. That's what I wanted you to inform about.
