Website Copy Upgrade

Why should we consider updating the website copy?

We received feedback based on user tests and also in conversations with funders and other FOSS projects that it is not always easy to grasp what F-Droid is and what kind of impact we are making.

Therefore we wanted to suggest several copy changes to key pages on the website and some minor design changes as well.

Project Scope

The idea is not to update the entire website and do a complete re-design. We just want to update the copy in select areas, specifically around how we communicate our impact (for potential funding opportunities) and how people can contribute.

The suggested changes are based on conversations we had with other successful FOSS project fundraising teams and feedback from the Mobifree user tests, where people gave input on how they perceive our project based on what they learned from the website.

Next Steps

Please review the cryptpad here and leave changes. Our goal would be to try and approve and implement the changes so it is finished until FOSDEM 2026, so we can launch the new and improved website there :)
