Payout request
As proposed by @eighthave (and discussed shortly on IRC as well as here in the forum), I hereby want to file a "payout request".
The past 5 weeks I've spent full-time on F-Droid tasks, and probably will do so for a few weeks more. That covers a.o. (but is not limited to):
- multiple triage-runs on fdroiddata merge requests, incl. "tickling" submitters/contributors on those that seemed idle, closing obsoleted ones, obsoleted stuck ones (mostly merge conflicts) replacing them with "fresh" counterparts I then merged
- thanks to Hans' rework of CI builds and issue-bot, making myself "junior packager" and bringing down the number of still open MRs by about 25% – at the same time increasing transparency of that process by documenting steps done (check with new apps I've processed for context)
- preparing a check-list for and giving multiple training sessions on "aspiring new reviewers/contributors" including one recorded, cut, recompiled and published, not only helping said aspirants getting started but also making our review process more transparent (I plan 2 more of those recordings, bridging into MR reviews at fdroiddata)
- start bringing down open issues at RFP (meanwhile from 350+ to about 330 – this task is still in progress)
Plus the "usual daily work" helping out developers with their RFPs, getting the YAML set up there, dealing with upcoming F-Droid questions in several issue trackers (not limited to our own; I meanwhile get "pinged" from within issue-trackers of apps as well) etc.
After a short discussion with @licaon-kter as for his needs (so we do not overstretch the budget), I would hereby ask for EUR 3.000 (which at a rate of EUR 20 per hour would correspond to about 3 weeks full-time).
I'd prefer this via SEPA, which should be possible via our OpenCollective account or our UK bank account hold by Ciaran AFAIK.
For context of my calculations: said OC account currently holds a little more than EUR 5k, said UK bank account about EUR 10k. For another context, see e.g. salary.com for average and medium hourly wage of developers in the US and gulp.de for freelance backend developers in DE/AT/CH.
Looking forward to your approval – or corrections if you think I've miscalculated.
