Write "Fathom Community Plan" for the Fathom blog & bi-weekly update
At @djudjuu's request, Here's a short 3 paragraph blog post on our community plan:
Community is the heart of learning. Learning within a positive community can accelerate the pace at which you learn, motivate you, and give you a broader, deeper perspective on the subject at hand. Community is also intrinsic to Fathom, as we seek to encourage the formation of independent, interconnected learning communities. That goal starts with us. The core Fathom community will help us develop & test our community plan and values.
As we begin growing our community, we're focused on two activities: individual outreach & group partnerships. We believe an engaged community is better than a big one. We're fostering a small, focused and like-minded community by reaching out to individuals we know - both friends and strangers - with an interest in developing new futures for learning. We want to learn from & collaborate with them and, in doing so, naturally encourage the growth of the Fathom community.
The web is an incredible constellation of communities. Several of them share similar values to us, and we want to partner with them in order to educate their members on what we're doing and encourage them to get involved. Working with existing communities enables us to expand our reach, nurture diverse opinions, and test out Fathom's assessment and credential systems with their members.
We're currently writing our community plan as an open, modular mix of tools, goals & heuristics. We look forward to sharing it with you shortly.
