Users may not expect behavior of systemd automount
Problem/Opportunity Statement
@ssudarsh attached a volume to an instance, but df -h
didn't show the filesystem, because the systemd automount unit had not yet mounted it. This behavior was unexpected, perhaps because we tell users that we will try to mount the filesystem. In practice, the POSIX mount point needs to be accessed, e.g. with a cd /media/volume/sdb
, for the volume to be mounted.

What would success / a fix look like?
Provide some brief orientation in the UI that the volume will be mounted when the filesystem mount point is first accessed.
