Light Magic
Role: Healing and support
Healing spells and summoning "living" mobs for support.
Dark Magic
Role: Damage and support
Summoning "undead" mobs for damage and necromancy-style healing.
Elemental Magic
Role: Damage
Classic fire, ice and lightning spells for pure damage.
Each type has 3 skills in their skill-line (to start with). It should be possible to have a main skill-line and a secondary one, so players can combine spells/skills in their action bar of 5 skills in total.
To keep classes equal, all classes should have a total of 9 skills divided in 3 class types, as above for the mage class. 3 classes x 9 skills = 27(ish) skills needed in total for combat gameplay in the first release. Is this doable? If you have better suggestions comment below!
