Thief Quest
This is about the beginning of the Thieves questline. It starts in Artis, as soon as the player reaches the Brotherhood hideout.
There, the player meets a Brotherhood member called Henry. Henry has a few problems and needs help.
First, he tells the player that he was catched by the Legion once, and now there is a note about him in the townhall archieves, which means he is always bothered when he is walking around outside. He asks the player to remove that note in townhall archieves. There can be two ways to enter:
- Player finds a Gearwheel (dropped by giant maggots in sewer), fixes the gate to townhall and enters the archive.
- Player lockpicks a door in Townhall building to enter archive.
Once inside, Player should find the book with the entry about Henry and delete it.
Once accomplished and returned to Henry, reward from Henry is a XP and GP (or maybe some gear?). Then, he asks the player for fixing the secret entrance to the Legion building, so during nights Henry may play tricks to the legion members (hide their underwear or such). Again this can be done by repairing the secret entrance, using a Gearwheel.
Once this is done, Henry rewards the player with a treasure map, leading to some treasure in Hurns caves. Then he asks the player to find his beloved friend Nunia and submit a letter- she is supposed to live in Hurns, but hasnt been seen there for quite a while now.
(When player did talk to Nunia and returns to Henry, reporting "She seems to have found a Thieves guild and is supposed to hide now, even from Brotherhood", he receives a few lockpicks.)
Now a few additional comments:
- Gearwheel is dropped by Giant Maggots. Can this be reduced to the quest only, like if quest is in state 2 or 3 only they are dropped?
- To repair the wheels in sewer, we could make the player to take a bit of time (approx 30 sec). As there are aggro mobs, this could require some help by other players, or at least luring mobs far away.
- If the player takes too long time in the archieve, he should be arrested, and a small tutorial about Jail can be added (to introduce the Jail). Can we make some NPC appear near the player and have a "Jail introduction cutscene" for this? Side note: If the player is not jailed in townhall archieves, we may mandatory jail him when breaking into legion building to introduce jail.
- It would be cool if the player could get the choice to remove Henry's name, or highlight it in the archieves to start collecting Points pro legion / pro brotherhood, and to make the quest really non-linear (perhaps a matter for later (TM).
