HTML cruft / cleanliness / dirty DOM

Should we be concerned about page level property HTML cleanliness? Lovely rant here.

This was mostly a personal concern I had when completing #64 (closed), as the page tags might become a bit unwieldy. Maybe I'm overthinking things... and what would be a better native solution anyway? HTML Components? Yuck.
