Simulink External Mode
It would be nice to have the external mode as a possibility for debugging and user interaction. This should be easier for the user as setting up the TestManager application. With this, logging data and controlling a realtime system can be performed directly from the Simulink GUI, like it is possible in Simulink Realtime. This feature was developed by the University Hannover (Germany) and it is already uploaded to GitLab based on Git-rev. 37460a15 (2018-01-18) of EtherLab. To integrate the feature, a second target file named "etherlab_extmode" could be added next to the existing one "etherlab".
Currently, the external mode patch only works for Matlab <= R2018b, since I did not do a rebase on the newest version.
