Inquiry Regarding Native Driver Compatibility with Kernel 5.4

Dear IgH Developers,

I hope this message finds you well. I am working with the IgH EtherCAT Master stack and have encountered some difficulties attempting to install the master using the e1000 network driver.

According to the compatibility documentation on the EtherLab website(https://etherlab.org/en/ethercat/hardware.php), the native driver support extends only up to Kernel 3.4. Given that I am currently using Kernel 5.4, I suspect this discrepancy may be the root cause of my difficulties.

Could you please confirm whether my assessment is accurate? If it is indeed a compatibility issue with Kernel 5.4, are there any straightforward workarounds you could recommend? Additionally, could you provide any information on whether there are plans for a native driver update that would be compatible with Kernel 5.4, and if so, an estimated timeline for its release?

Your help and insights would be greatly appreciated as I continue to explore and implement the functionalities of the IgH EtherCAT Master stack.

Best regards,

Eirikur Bernharðsson
