Fix bug in observation mode when using bad value
What happened:
Observation mode would not work with this code snippet:

parameters:
- key: detector.environment.temperature
values: np.arange(100.0, 301.0, 1.0)
What you expected to happen: A 'NameError' because it's not (yet) possible to use 'np.'
