Feature request: Owntracks Geofencing
Hi,
I have quite a particular use case, which might be interesting for others as well I guess. I use PhoneTrack-OC to track my phone position in realtime (this is especially useful for me as I don't have Google Play services on my phone and then achieves an equivalent of "find my phone" feature with my own infrastructure). I'm currently using OwnTracks on my phone.
My last position is also fetched at home by my HomeAssistant component to trigger automations at home whether I'm there or not.
It would be super cool to be also able to track my boyfriend's phone so that both devices can be used in HA's automations, (geofencing-like, saying "home" or "not home"). For (obvious) privacy reasons, he does not want its precise location to be sent remotely.
It appears OwnTracks has a geofencing ability (not sure exactly how this works) which should in principle be able to send a binary info (in the zone / not in the zone) and would be a perfect match. What about implementing it in PhoneTrack-OC? (Not sure if my typical use case can match others as well)
Otherwise, HomeAssistant has an OwnTracks component which would do the trick. But that requires exposing the location service at home and not being able to use it in other online selfhosted services, so that would be less convenient than using it in Nextcloud :)
Thanks!
