Various issues with Chrome (that work fine in Firefox)

It seems like there are some issues under Chrome that I didn't notice so far since I usually use Firefox.

First of all geolocation only works on https connections under Chrome, I guess that is intended functionality but a bit annoying.

The bigger issues is that somehow .gpx files that open fine in Firefox do not open under Chrome. See the attached screenshot with the console error.
