Hide features that depend on gpsbable if it is not available?

Nextcloud can run fine for a small number of users on a shared host, but it is usually impossible to install gpsbable on these.

Would it be possible to hide functionality that doesn't work in such cases or have some sort of php only fall back mode?

Most users get really confused if functionality fails silently.
