Someone who could give an overview presentation of each part would be most welcome.

It would be focused more on helping get started / providing help with Linux setups, and run topical workshops around trying out Linux, using Free Software alternatives (both on Linux and Windows - for the timid), and maybe some introductory programming projects for various interests.
It would be thus more aimed at older students, or anybody who'd be interested in learning entry-level activities for Linux.
It could be done on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, depending on volunteer availability.https://gitlab.com/edlug/Meetings/-/issues/7Organise an install day/demo - maybe as a booth at a larger event?2019-05-17T19:35:56ZTai KedzierskiOrganise an install day/demo - maybe as a booth at a larger event?I was told EdLUG used to do install-days as part of an outreach activity.

Git is closely associated to Linux, being initiated by LInus Torvalds, and is in wide use around the world as the de-facto standard for source control management skills for new projects, and hires in sysadmin, devops, and Linux-related jobs.
It would be advantageous to the group's members and for would-be members if the Linux user group were to host an introduction and primer to the technology, and on how to use it.https://gitlab.com/edlug/Meetings/-/issues/5Invite Alyssa Ross for a talk on nixOS2019-05-17T19:35:57ZTai KedzierskiInvite Alyssa Ross for a talk on nixOSI met Alyssa at her TechMeetup talk `You may have found a bug in the ruby interpreter` and she told me about how she's involved in the nixOS project, and had quite a lot to showcase on it.

There will be a booked table, and persons are welcome to order food whilst we deliberate on our plans.
This meetup is intended to be an open discussion forum for the plans for the group in the longer term, what to do with various web assets, how to organize meetings and talks, venue locations, and suchlike.
All members of EdLUG are welcome to participate and put forward suggestions.https://gitlab.com/edlug/Meetings/-/issues/1Mailing list is not distributing emails2019-05-17T19:35:56ZTai KedzierskiMailing list is not distributing emailsA few mails have gone missing (not been distributed to the list) over the last week, and I am not sure if there have been suggestions for meeting up, or attempted plans only half-communicated. There have also been some historical issues that caused us to hide email addresses, which is not ideal; changing the setup to something that suits us better is not psosible, short of re-coding Sympa (or the likes).
I am opening this Issue in the hopes of creating a single thread to determine how we want to resolve the mailing problem, without messages going missing.
I would like to put to a vote the following:
1. Should we try to fix the mail server that we have, and keep running it
2. Should we use an alternative mail service? Google Groups is one option; Framalistes.org is an alternative
Please use the poll here: https://doodle.com/poll/x34t7kyxbst93sw2
Bear in mind that maintaining the mailing list server requires work -- and volunteers are called upon to help should this option carry.
If we choose an online service, we will discuss what to do with the email archive at the next meetup (see #2)
Note that mail remains a preferred form of communication for many, and whilst we will be exploring the option of IRC, discord, slack, etc, we do still need an actual mailing list system as an option.
