Solutions for political division issues.
"Be Respectful To All" has a series of issues.
- it can lead to a game of I changed my pronouns 10 times in 30 minutes, that is not respectful either of anyone ability to keep up with someone insanity;
- Forcing other people to conform to your "reality" or lack there of is a form of authoritarianism or narcisism;
- forcing people that have short term memory issues (ADHD) to force to remember anyone given pronouns or titles can be stressful and unproductive;
- forcing people that have a hard time to conform to something that is not objective reality will cause issues (ASD)
Now my reasons to oppose said fantasy name calling is:
- society tends to use words to identify something that everyone can identify at first glance, it's a mater of cohesion and interoperability, imagine that I called a smartphone a tv and a TV a spoon, if completely breaks a standard in society, that is why we study linguistics and such;
- it has yet to be proven scientifically that pronouns or gender identity are a social construct, there is no consensus;
- forcing people to say something contrary to what it is in reality is a form of authoritarianism, it's an 1984 new speak and right off Mao Tse-tung little red book.
I strongly agree that people have the right be whatever they want to be, but it's also everyone's right not be forced into a make personal view that is not only not backed by science, it's forcing people to say things they really know to be objectively false.
In the case of ADHD and ASD, who comes first? The one that wants to be called something false or insane, or the ones that have a really hard time to comply with that order.
To conform to such madness is to lose all integrity within a FOSS project, it's no longer a FOSS project, it's whoever can control the speech and what people should think.
