Consider adapting clauses from SCoC
First, I want to emphasize that I like what this project is doing. I understand its core values and highly appreciate its efforts to remain non-political and raise the bar for a Code of Conduct.
However, I would also like to raise several concerns. Primarily:
- Your language of anti-activism is going to have a very strong backlash and will be very difficult to adopt for many mainstream FOSS projects e.g. GNOME due to their incompatible values
- The emphasis on competition and meritocracy is going to be unappealing and uninviting to newer FOSS contributors, and the last thing we want is to cause newcomers to leave our community
- Your FOSS Code of Conduct can feel uncompromisingly strict, which can dissuade others from using it for fear of consequences
I have a forked version of "No code of conduct" here: https://github.com/Songtech-0912/SCoC. My fork, called the Sensible Code of Conduct (SCoC), is a moderated form of both your code of conduct and the NCoC, written in a way to specifically encourage adoption. I urge you to read through it, and see if you can adapt certain clauses from it for the FOSS Code of Conduct.
