Connect to a wifi network without adding it as a connection profile

When trying to connect to a wifi network with the wrong password, the connection remains saved in the profile, with the wrong credentials.

Is it possible to connect to a wifi network without adding it as a connection first? That way, we can add the connection after we verify it successfully connects.
