Looks weird when travelling through not-yet-generated chunks

  • Describe the bug: when traversing the world faster than server can generate chunks you sometimes end up floating with the emptiness around you. I thought DistantHorizons pre-generates server chunks? It doesn't seem to be the case I guess. Anyway, this results in an awkward situation where I can see surrounding world generated by DH, but the actual chunks are not yet generated by the server. The WTF-meter goes off the scale here:

Is it possible to fix this? Maybe some config option?..

Also, if DH doesn't actually generate distant chunks, what it's actually doing then? Why it's taking 2 hours to generate the terrain within the default radius?..

Also, what's with this fugly pixel grid?.. i.e. near "DH is generating" overlay text. It shows up all the time wherever I go. It disappears eventually, usually in about a second or two, but sometimes it takes longer. That's a pretty weird artifact, IMO. Can it be disabled?..

Also, distant chunk LOD looks like a pile of horisontal lego bricks, the farther it is:

Which looks... ugly, really. Can this be fixed by some config option, to make it more square-ish?..

  • Steps to reproduce the bug: move fast in the world, faster than server can generate real chunks, and look below you
