The truth is, every niche has a cacophony of current events, or news stories that make your content INSTANTLY unique, and of course, instantly RELEVANT as well. Why? Because something that happened on the morning news, or in the industry over the weekend, is guaranteed to be a new angle by definition, and it gives you a whole host of other search engine and social media traffic benefits to boot. Using weight loss studies, or novel diets being talked about on TV, and then applying them to your nutrition oriented articles would be one very basic example. Or applying recently released financial data, or foreclosure trends, to a credit repair oriented campaign may be another. Current events are topical, and timely and URGENT as well when framed properly, and can be used to explosively grow your audience in every niche there is. Capture them with Controversy I love using controversy in my content. It sells, and attracts, and engages and enrages and does just about everything you want your content to do. It fuels emotion and forces people to pick sides and often you’ll find even those who disagree with you can’t look away. Every niche has a controversial element waiting to be drawn out, and if you do it better, and faster and with more punch than other publishers, you will win the attention of your audience as well, I promise! (note – you can COMBINE the 2 approaches above with EVERY article you write, and in some cases….literally get TWICE the bump to boot.
