No media type attribute in publication date causes save error.
A member alerted us to the fact that they were unable to save the details of an article that they imported into Metadata Manager when it was pulled in without a publication date. When trying to save the article after adding the date it would just not do anything and leaving the article and going back into the article, the date was blank again and errors were showing.
Upon further investigation with the support team it was noticed that the publication date attribute media-type was not included in the DOI when it was originally registered (using XML deposit).
I added the attribute into the xml and redeposited the metadata and the date showed in Metadata Manager after a removal and a reimport.
I thought I would make you aware of this incase a code tweak was needed to deal with dates that don't have that attribute. The attribute is an optional one in the schema.
I don't have any examples I can add as the member needed them updated so they could make adjustments on the newly inherited DOIs.
