Does not report events for VLAN interfaces on tagged ports

I have a host with several interfaces which have no untagged VLAN, but one or more tagged VLANs. I get events for carrier, Link Local (v6), etc. on the physical interface as expected (e.g. eth2). I do not get any events for any of the tagged VLAN interfaces (e.g. mylan@eth2, mydmz@eth2, etc.).

I do not know if this is a limitation in what systemd-networkd provides in terms of notifications on the dbus or if it is a failure of networkd-dispatcher to report events for sub-interfaces, but currently, it represents a significant inconvenience for what I am trying to do.
