How to Manage the managers' names on the locations pages
Problem: The branch managers occasionally change; they're each listed under their branch's page; we forget to change them (or more often, we are never notified of it); so that months later, we don't know whether the manager's name is correct or not.
Proposed solution: Marketing hoped that it was realistic for me to call a CSV file so that Nancy could just edit that list and then it would automatically get uploaded (but then where would the CSV be stored?)
I don't think that's somewhat realistic or the best use of my time to build that feature and proposed perhaps to give Nancy permission to edit the location pages.
That's sort of a philosophical question/overarching one, of reexamining the most appropriate ways to store our content on our website; it's traditionally been inside WordPress and the content of that SQL database; an alternative for this (when we store the information natively in other apps or sources); is to funneling it from that API to the website (e.g. for our events); (and in this case, the information is small, and consistent (it's all manager names) enough we can completely divorce the content away from the markup surrounding it.
but will we ever get to a point when there's so information on our pages that can't be managed that way; something to chew on there.
