Login button on email login does not show login until page is refreshed

I have complied v1.7 as a new user. I am finding that the login button 'appears' to do nothing but in actual fact works however the login is not shown unless the page is refreshed. Closing the login dialog box with the 'x' in the top right hand corner also (as probably expected) does nothing. So the login button is doing something but the refresh of the commento boxes showing this login does not get updated.

I have looked to see if there is a similar problem but can't find this.

I have found the same issue with both Mac and PC and with browsers Safari, Edge, Firefox and Chrome.

Any suggestions?
