smtp_email_notification.go:81 smtpEmailNotification(): cannot send email notification: EOF
Hi, thanks for sharing your work!
At the moment, I'm trying to set up commento's email notification. Somehow commento tries to send an email, but it fails like the following:
2019/04/28 20:52:38 [ERROR] smtp_email_notification.go:81 smtpEmailNotification(): cannot send email notification: EOF
2019/04/28 20:52:38 [ERROR] email_notification_send.go:60 emailNotificationSend(): cannot send email notification: Email dispatch failed. Please contact support to resolve this issue.
Mailgun test
I've also tested mailgun like the following and I could get the email in gmail.com:
./swaks --auth \
--server smtp.mailgun.org \
--au postmaster@mg.mydomain.com \
--ap mailgun_password\
--from no-reply@mydomain.com \
--to my_gmail_account@gmail.com \
--h-Subject: "Hello" \
--body 'Testing some Mailgun awesomness!'
Commento test
I've tested commento 1.6.2 on Ubuntu 18.04 with the following configuration:
sudo \
COMMENTO_ORIGIN=http://comment.mydomain.com \
COMMENTO_PORT=80 \
COMMENTO_POSTGRES=postgres://id:pw@localhost:5432/commento?sslmode=disable \
COMMENTO_BIND_ADDRESS=comment.mydomain.com \
COMMENTO_FORBID_NEW_OWNERS=true \
COMMENTO_GZIP_STATIC=true \
COMMENTO_AKISMET_KEY=akismet_api_key \
COMMENTO_SMTP_HOST=smtp.mailgun.org \
COMMENTO_SMTP_PORT=465 \
COMMENTO_SMTP_USERNAME=postmaster@mg.mydomain.com \
COMMENTO_SMTP_PASSWORD=mailgun_password \
COMMENTO_SMTP_FROM_ADDRESS=no-reply@mydomain.com \
nohup ./commento &
I added a new anonymous comment and waited until Commento tried to send a notification but it reported
2019/04/28 20:52:38 [ERROR] smtp_email_notification.go:81 smtpEmailNotification(): cannot send email notification: EOF
2019/04/28 20:52:38 [ERROR] email_notification_send.go:60 emailNotificationSend(): cannot send email notification: Email dispatch failed. Please contact support to resolve this issue.
I tested with comment of registered user but still no luck. I also test the above things with gmail account but no success. Would be anyone able to have a look at this issue?
