User Story-As a user, I would like for this application to run great on both my PC's browser and my mobile device's browser
-
This story involves taking all the original content of the application and migrating it over to a new application. This user story represents a general starting point and a broad definition of the project's scope.
-
The implication here is that this will run in the browser and feature responsive web design.
-
Furthermore, compliance with this user story means that this application will work well in low to mid-bandwidth settings. A Specific example of a trade-off would be the use of pictures and transcripts over audio/video along the destinations in the tour. The user should be able to choose to view a video, but the default should be images/text.
-
EDIT 5-18: This has more or less been addressed in the new application. The design is consistent on desktops and mobile screens, with responsive media queries implemented to help the core design scale accordingly. Care has been put into making sure this application runs quickly. Thumbnails were scrapped from the design to improve load times and help with screen real estate. The text transcript now appears under every listed location, but no other image than the youtube video iframe is used for the same reasons as before. The application was original planned to be built in react, but because there was very little advantage in a small application like this, I went with the easier and more widely known Jquery to try and still keep performance great while allowing for easy expansion in the future.
