Incorporate notification callbacks into b@d

LAVA 2017-7 has added notification callbacks these need researching and supporting
Issue description
They will assist the health checks in uploading build results to the VM and thus help Jan-Simon's use case see also https://bugs.linaro.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3239
