EROFS is causing problems on BeagleBone Black

With cip-project/cip-kernel/cip-kernel-config!126 (merged) in place and configured for EROFS in SWUpdate setup, the BBB I'm using here no longer boots. Initramfs is still passing, but when trying to switch to erofs-backed rootfs and running systemd there, that is crashing, and the kernel is panic'ing. Same when calling, e.g., bash from the rootfs. This is not happening with the qemu-arm target.

Kernels tried so far: 6.1-cip, 6.12-cip and even today's 6.16-head.
