I'm not sure we need to do anything, but to record the problem: At present (sphinx-rtd-theme 0.5.2), docutils ≥ 0.17 breaks list rendering. See: readthedocs/sphinx_rtd_theme#1115 sphinx-rtd-theme's dependency is correct (<0.17), but if you manually upgrade docutils there is no warning.
