![Screenshots](screenshots.jpg)This iOS game was created for my little sister's birthday party. In it, you walk around a real-world location using your phone to look for items. (It's not officially licensed or endorsed by the real Star Trek or anything.)Since Location Services isn't always accurate enough to do small-scale location, we fake it by using the device's accelerometer to detect when the user is walking/running. Combined with a hard-coded timer, this ensures everyone takes roughly the same amount of time to collect each item and finish the game. The game works best on devices with a motion coprocessor (iPhone 5S or newer), but running it on an older device will work too.## Usage TipsIf you'd like to use Star Trek GO at a birthday party, here's a few tips:- The game takes about 30-40 minutes to play all the way through. The easiest way to make it longer or shorter is to edit the item duration in `data.swift`.- To install the app, open the .xcodeproj file in Xcode, connect your phone, and click the "Build and Run" button.- When installed on a phone, the app is called "Scanner" and has a blank white icon.- The app will prevent the phone from automatically sleeping. Use [Guided Access](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202612) to stop kids from accidentally hitting the Home or Lock buttons.- The "Proximity" meter will tell players that they're getting closer to the item no matter which way they go. Make sure to keep an eye on them so they don't wander too far away.- If you need to reset a player's progress, kill the app by double-clicking the Home button and swiping it up. When you re-launch it, the progress will be reset.
