Making accurate Credits for a zine takes a long time
During the Wellington ZineFest workshop, we prototyped the use of Noun Project ilustrations which worked really well, but Attribution proved difficult in a tight timeframe.
For a start, it was hard to fit all the numbers in one column. But then comes the problem of tracking down all the works that you built upon and attributing correctly:
Gumboots of the Future, CC-BY-SA Judith Carnaby, builds upon rain boots by mcarranza, Lightning by Spencer Harrison, and Astronaut by Anna Gross, all CC-BY from The Noun Project.
Tech When I am 89, CC-BY-SA Zach Mandeville, builds upon Gumboots of the Future, CC-BY-SA Judith Carnaby, Technology as I understood it in 1996 CC-BY-SA Elstwhile, Tech When I Was 5 CC-BY-SA Zach Mandeville, Tech In 1989 CC-BY-SA cameralibre, cassette tape by Felix Brönnimann , Enterprise by Juan Manuel Corredor, Computer by Evgeny Kiverin, Braille by Sergey Demushkin, Pencil by Adam Zubin, rain boots by mcarranza, Handheld game console by Maxim Kulikov, Lightning by Spencer Harrison, and Astronaut by Anna Gross, all CC-BY from The Noun Project.
For this reason most of the zines produced in this workshop did not have accurate credits and were therefore... DUN-DUN-DUNNNNN.... ILLEGAL!
