Error generated when /messages endpoint doesn't include end parameter

According to the current matrix spec (v1.3) /messages endpoint does not need to include the end parameter if there are no more events available at the time of the request (source). When this happens, cactus fails to correctly parse the incoming response because it is expecting end.
