Bluetooth HR device detected, ticked, but no HR data is recorded. No errors shown.

Hi! First, thank you for an excellent app. I really appreciate the effort that has gone into it and even without heartrate data it makes my life better.

I have an Amazfit Cor, which shows up in the devices list and I have ticked it. However, no heartrate data is recorded and exported GPX files just contain "x" in the heart rate data.

The phone (Galaxy S4 Mini i9195 running LineageOS 14.1) can read HR data from the watch, which is bonded and set up via GadgetBridge - capability confirmed with Nordic nRF Connect, which gets the NOTIFY (when enabled) on UUID 0x2A37 when a heart rate reading is made by the watch.

What am I doing wrong?
