README of Brendan Lynch
About me
- I'm part of GitLab's Technical Writing team, working across the Create and Plan stages with a docs-as-code workflow for feature, API, and release documentation.
- I'm interested in AI tooling and models, and how to optimize them for technical
writing. From integrating docs standards into AI-assisted workflows (such as
GitLab Duo and
AGENTS.md) to using AI to write and review documentation more efficiently. - I care about information architecture (IA), terminology consistency, and UI text, and I enjoy making complex technical information accessible to everyone.
- Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and reading. To stay active I play soccer, tennis, badminton, and occasionally enjoy running and cycling.
Availability
- I live and work in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (Central European Time, UTC/GMT +1).
- I usually work between 8am and 5pm.
- Feel free to book time on my calendar or reschedule as needed. A little context ahead of time is always appreciated.
Working with me
- I mostly work from To-Dos, so tag me and it'll land on my list.
- You can also reach me on Slack anytime; you won't bother me!
- I value clear, concise, and consistent communication.
- I like to split large pieces of work into small, focused, reviewable chunks.
- I'm always open to feedback, and I appreciate both public and private recognition.
