I got tired of waiting, so I did it myself. Here it is if you want it. I don't use Bitcoin Qt, so I didn't do anything with it.

Note: The "ljr"/"knots" patchset for 0.12.0 no longer applies cleanly to 0.12.1, so USE="ljr" is hard-masked for now.
