Protect'Air - Confining bubble for patients infected with airborne viruses (ie. COVID-19)

The objective is to produce a system that confine the respiratory flow environment of an infected patient, from his initial pickup until the end of his treatment (ambulance or helicopter transport, hospital stay). For this, the patients ENT sphere ( ear, nose and throat) is isolated thanks to a bubble slightly depressurized and attached to the patient. The system allows cares provide to the patient while being comfortable to wear.

Validation of the idea has been made with an experiment representing a severe risk of contamination: an open nebulizer has thus been used as particles generator. The Cirrus 2 (Intersurgical ©, France) nebulizer was issued by a 9 L/min oxygen flow. Particles count, at 1m far from the patient, has been done thanks to an industrial laser counter usually used in white rooms with a particle size sensitivity from 0.3 to 25 µm (Lasair III, Particle Measuring Systems
Attention: the medical device presented here has not the CE certification. The conformity to generals requirements of European regulation related to medical devices (UE) 2017/745 is not established. Its use is under the ANSM authorization and/or adapted specific procedures.
