Use native fetch and AbortController in supported runtimes, document Node.js >=18 support, regenerate lib/dist/docs, and remove the legacy Node agent option from the public runtime contract.

- add npm typecheck script for release validation
- make browser bundle and gzip output more reproducible
- switch coverage target to c8 while preserving local test hooks
- keep docs out of clean output removal scope
